What do I do while listening to audiobooks – Health Guild News

As many of you already know, Elsie and I are very obsessed with listening to audiobooks. Make no mistake, I also love to read.

But my current season of life feels exceptionally full, so while I don’t feel like reading as often as I would like, I still find many small moments to listen to audiobooks that excite me.

I’ve been in love with so many Penguin Random House Audio titles – they’re a classic and they make audiences constantly, both fiction and non-fiction and everything in between.

Just to name a few, I loved them Indomitable by Glennon Doyle. I’m excited to finish There is no cure for being human by Kate Bowler. And the next one in the fiction department is The Missing Half by Brit Bennett i One of us is lying by Karen M. McManus.

And we have a VERY exciting gift, read more details here. The raffle is for a Google Nest Audio device and FOUR audiobooks of your choice! I am so excited to hear these tracks and I am delighted that one of you will too!

What do you do while listening to audiobooks? I look forward to hearing from you! I’m curious if most people find time on their commute. I work from home and have it for years, so for me I tend to listen at other times.

My number one is walking! I will be walking around my neighborhood most days. I usually have my son in the stroller with me, but sometimes I go alone on the lunch break. This is a good time to get between 20 and 30 minutes of audiobook.

I also often listen to audiobooks while editing photos for work. I’m not one of those people who can listen to books or podcasts while I write emails or do anything that requires that kind of thinking.

But since photo editing is purely visual, it’s a good time to listen to a few minutes of my current book.

Another is making dishes. Ha! We are one of those homes where we let the dishes pile up all day, or a couple of days before we make them. I also wanted to show the title of the book I was listening to, but don’t worry, usually the phone is further away from the sink while I’m washing the dishes. 🙂

Probably only 15 to 20 minutes, but if possible squeeze some listening time while scrubbing or unloading the dishwasher.

And another task I do while listening to books is laundry. Especially with the arrival of my son, it makes me feel like he folds his clothes every two days (which I don’t care about, it’s actually my favorite job, as I like warmer clothes in the dryer ).

I also tend to steam all my clothes that have to be steamed at once, so there are a few more minutes to squeeze some time to listen.

As you can see from my list, none of these are times when I can read a book, so I love that audiobooks are an option to keep me company during these tasks. And don’t forget to check out the raffle with Penguin Random House Audio!

Leave me a comment on what you usually do when you listen to books! xo. Emma
