The MJBizCon 2021 ends on the third day

MJBizCon 2021 took place from 19 to 22 October and hosted between 20,000 and 30,000 attendees. Participants were asked to wear masks and practice social distancing.

The event offset a lost year with tons of well-cured content.

Show planners designed four tracks to appeal to specific demographics: growers, manufacturers, retailers, and people new to the industry.

Industry knowledge and celebrity sightings

The program’s speaker training included players from all sectors of the cannabis space.

Speakers included leadership from Arcview, The Parent Company, Vicent Sederberg, Curaleaf, Hypur, Akerna, Global Cannabis Network Collective, the US Cannabis Council, BIPOCann, Hawthorne, Wana Brands and many more.

Several celebrities were seen in the auditorium, among them RAW founder Josh KesselmanNational Cannabis Party co-founder Redman and comedian Jason Gann, all of whom had signings in first day and two of the event.

Recent attendees have included Kevin Smith, Gene Simmons and Kevin O’Leary, to name a few.

Conferences, Collaboration

Friday’s closing conference was Shark Tank’s Daymond John. The founder and CEO of FUBU offered an inspiring insight into entrepreneurship, innovation and investment.

John had previously refused to speak at MJBizCon, but by 2021 it appears that taboos are fading and giving way to more A-list participants.

Following the headlines, networking events such as “Achieving Equity in Cannabis” and “Empowering Women in Cannabis” helped people connect whether they were C-Suite executives or new professionals in the industry.

Sessions, exhibitor content and forums

The Scientific Symposium and the Finance Forum offered several popular sessions, including a discussion on biosynthetic cannabinoid production and an examination of the next wave of innovation and investment opportunities.

The Hemp Industry Forum hosted much-needed talks on hemp and climate change, the evolving regulatory landscape, and minor cannabinoid cultivation strategies.

Exhibitor content also provided great insights on topics ranging from seed technology to sales, extraction filtration, remote sales, and smart data for optimized growth.

For attendees who have purchased the full access pass, many on-demand sessions will be available until the end of the year.

Out-of-hours entertainment

Of course, what happens at the convention center is just half the fun of attending the MJBizCon in Las Vegas.

There are many after parties and events which take place in the dark.

Grasslands: A journalism-minded agency organized its high-level networking meeting to bring together brands and journalists to have cocktails and conversations.

Farechild Events and SENSI hosted The Zodiac Party, an outdoor invitation-only networking event.

Since the pandemic began, the cannabis space has been starving for events.

It is safe to say that MJBizCon 2021 returned in person in a significant way, to the delight of attendees and exhibitors.
