April 27, 2021 – AstraZeneca is sued by the European Union (EU) for delays in sending hundreds of millions of COVID-19 vaccine dose.

European officials say AstraZeneca broke his contract when he said it would deliver only a third of the 300 million doses European officials expected by the end of June, The New York Times reported.

Problems between the blog and the company began in January when AstraZeneca said it would provide the blog with much less vaccine doses of those planned for the first quarter of the year.

This pushed back the blog’s vaccination campaign for weeks as cases escalated and political leaders were criticized for inadequate planning, the Time reported.

AstraZeneca, which developed the vaccine with Oxford University, has said the EU ended its contract months after Britain did, giving the company less time to resolve manufacturing difficulties. Time reported.

The AstraZeneca vaccine is used in 135 countries.
