Who doesn’t like Mexican food? Really, is there anyone who doesn’t? Anyway, I know my family sure does. These bowls of beef and rice they are one of our favorites at night. And children are always excited about one guacamole snack. And if we can have delicious tacos at home, it’s a definite victory.
Shepherd’s tacos are a great mix of spicy, salty, sweet and spicy. I marinate the pork in a sweet and spicy marinade, the pussy and the mince to put it in tacos. My kids do two thumbs up and say you should give it a try.
What are Tacos Al Pastor?

Seriously, though, the traditional tacos al pastor are nothing like the cake. The meat looks more like a Mexican version of the Lebanese shawarma or Greek gyroscopes. Throw the meat in an omelet with other toppings and have tacos to the shepherd.
To do this, marinate the pork in a pineapple and marinate it in the pepper for at least an hour. Then choose a cooking method. The pork from the traditional tacos al pastor is roasted on the grill.
I don’t have a spit roasting meat. Most home cooks don’t. But there are other ways to get a delicious taste at home. Here are the three methods I used:
- Smoker / pellet grill: my favorite method. It takes much longer than any other method, but it is the closest to roasting and tastes amazing.
- Instant Pot: The instant pot is a great tool for cooking in a practical way and cooking large cuts of meat quickly. If you choose this method, roast the shredded pork for a few minutes to get the crunchy toasted texture you will get from the spit roast.
- Stoves: This method is the fastest because you will cut the marinated pork and fry it in the pan.
Assembly of the tacos
One of my family’s favorite things about tacos is that everyone can outdo theirs as they please. I put different coverage options depending on what I have on hand and what is in season. Our fish tacos i fish taco salad they are different every time we have them.
Shepherd tacos are usually served with extra fresh or grilled pineapple, diced red onion, coriander and avocado. We also like it a lot this taco slaw.
Mexican style recipe Al Pastor Tacos
The tacos al pastor are a mixture of sweet, spicy, spicy and salty. On top, put pineapple, onion and coriander to enjoy a nice meal.
- 5-6 free boneless pork shoulder (a Boston ass)
- 1 pineapple (heartless and chopped, split)
- 1 medium onion (peeled and chopped)
- 2 cloves All (or 1 teaspoon garlic powder)
- ½ tax pineapple juice
- ¼ tax coconut amines
- 1 TBSP vinegar
- ½ tax Orange juice
- ½ tax maple syrup
- 1 Lima (with juice)
- 2 chipotle peppers in marinade sauce

- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon sal
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 2 TBSP taco seasoning
- red onion (diced)
- coriander (chopped)
- avocado (sliced)
To make the marinade:
In a blender, puree 1 cup chopped pineapple and all remaining ingredients.
Pour the marinade over the pork and marinate in the fridge for at least an hour or up to 8 hours, turning every few hours.
Instant Pot: (simplest method)
Add the pork and marinade to the instant pot.
Cover and fix to seal.
Cook at high pressure for 45 minutes and allow the pressure to release naturally.
Use two forks to grind the pork and place it on a large baking tray.
Finely chop another cup of pineapple and add it to the pork.
Place the baking tray on the oven rack for 5-7 minutes, until golden brown and the pineapple begins to caramelize.
Remove and serve.
Pellet Grill: (tastiest method)
Preheat a pellet grill or smoker to 250 ° F.
Place the pork directly on the grill.
Cook for 5 hours at an internal temperature of 160 ° F.
Remove and place on a large piece of foil.
Brush it with extra maple syrup and add 1 cup of fresh, finely chopped pineapple.
Wrap the pork tightly in foil and return to the griddle.
Cook for another 3-4 hours at 275 ° F until the internal temperature reaches 200 ° F.
Remove and let stand half an hour.
If desired, grill fresh pineapple slices directly on the grill until caramelized and serve on top of the pork.
Stoves: (fastest method)
Cut the pork into thin slices (½ inch or less).
Heat a large skillet or griddle over high heat.
Working in batches, leave each piece for 3-4 minutes per side until charred and cooked.
Remove and reserve.
Scald an extra cup of pineapple in the same pan until it is caramelized and place on top of the pork.
Let both rest for 5 minutes, then chop approximately.
Serve in tacos.
Top with extra fresh pineapple, red onion, coriander, avocado and other toppings to choose from.
You can supply chicken thighs to the pork if you want, but adjust the cooking time accordingly.
