My kids love it smoothies without for breakfast and snacks. I usually use a combination of fruits and vegetables and throw in some kind of dairy, nut butter or collagen powder to get protein. Over the years, we have tried several tasty combinations and are always looking forward to a new recipe to try. This orange cream smoothie reminds me of those orange octopuses we all enjoyed as kids. It’s the perfect snack in the summer.

How do I Make an Orange Cream Smoothie?

Well, I wanted it to be cold and refreshing, just like the frozen delicacies I loved. Viously, obviously, it had to be orange, soft and creamy and a little sweet.

To achieve these parameters, the secret ingredient I use is frozen banana. I don’t know about you guys, but I never know if you can eat bananas when I buy them or not. When I’m done with a lot of non-food, I peel and freeze them for use in smoothies. They add creaminess, thickness and the necessary coldness without having to use ice.

To get the orange flavor, I also use orange juice and sometimes orange zest, if only it’s not orange enough.

I usually use coconut milk for the liquid, but you can really use just about any dairy or nut milk you want. From time to time I change it according to what is in my fridge.
