Hamas says it fired 130 rockets at Israel after a Gaza residential tower collapsed after an Israeli airstrike.
A 13-story residential tower in Gaza City has collapsed after Israeli airstrikes targeted the building.
No casualties were reported among the residents, who reportedly left the Hanadi tower before being hit.
The video footage shows three plumes of thick smoke coming out of the tower, the upper floors still intact until it collapsed to the ground. The tower houses an office used by the political leadership of Islamist rulers in Gaza, Hamas.
Electricity in the building area was turned off after the collapse. Residents used flashlights to search for personal items nearby.
Shortly after the strike, Hamas, the group that controls the besieged Gaza Strip, said it fired 130 rockets into the Israeli city of Tel Aviv.
The Hamas armed army, the Qassem Brigades, had warned that it would retaliate for the strike on the tower near the coast, before confirming that it had launched an attack on “Tel Aviv and its 130-missile suburbs”.
