Is there anything like a healthy bra?

Sixteen million bras are bought every year, and yet it is estimated that 80% of us wear a bra of the wrong size. I’ve covered some of them modern bra traps in this post, but today I want to discuss how to find the healthiest bra and also consider the position of whether bras are healthy.

The answer depends on several factors, some of which may surprise you.

Why do women wear bras?

First came the corset, then came the girdle, and finally the modern mantle. Over the centuries, fashion has changed and the desired shape of the breasts has changed with it. These special interior pieces offer modesty, support during the activity and improvement of the feminine form.

Nowadays, women basically wear bras for the same reasons. They keep girls happy and provide support, especially during more intense physical activity. Fashion has evolved, so special bras are needed for different outfits.

Advantages of getting rid of bras

While most of us wear one, research shows that the 1970s could have been affected by something with bra burns. There is a surprisingly controversial link between bras and breast cancer. Several studies show that sleeping in a bra, with a wire roof, or with tight-fitting bras suppresses lymphatic flow and can contribute to lymphatic stasis. It is when the lymphatic system cannot drain properly due to breast restriction. Some research shows that inadequate lymphatic flow can contribute to breast cancer.

There are easy ones ways to support lymphatic health at home, but women can’t ignore that wearing a better bra (or no bra) could be one of them.

Integrated breast support

During puberty, the breasts and surrounding thoracic tissue develop. Breast tissue ligaments, called Cooper ligaments, are thin tissues that are braided through the breast and attach to the breast to support the breast.

Over time, these ligaments stretch naturally and can cause sagging breasts. Some believe that muscle atrophy also plays an important role.

The healthiest bras

Bras vary widely, from attractive and eye-catching models, to plain Jane white cotton. Some guidelines to follow when choosing a bra:

  • Choose a bra made of breathable (and preferably organic) fabric.
  • Organic cotton and bamboo are good choices.
  • Watch out for latex straps or nickel closures, which can be irritating to those who are sensitive to these materials.

A breathable fabric removes moisture to keep the chest area cool and comfortable. Our body removes toxins from sweat, so it gets trapped that the entire inside of a sweaty bra is not only uncomfortable, but unhealthy. Some have even postulated that tight underwear may be a contributing factor to cancer as it inhibits the body’s natural cooling mechanism.

A case study of a 34-year-old woman found that Mondor’s disease was probably caused by her constrictive bra. This rare disease is when a vein just below the breast tissue or breast becomes inflamed. Medical professionals suspected that tight bras and waists are the main culprit.

Run away from the wire … Maybe

As I mentioned earlier, several studies have shown and some experts agree that the metal wiring of our bras could contribute to breast health issues. On the other hand, there are those who do not fully agree with this evidence, especially the Komen Foundation and the American Cancer Society.

I opted for an unarmored bra in case the evidence is true and I feel more comfortable without it anyway. If you dig a narrow or cheap cord into your chest it can also cause skin irritation, strain on your shoulders and neck and even headaches.

Regular bras are not designed to work without the added support, so simply removing the cable from the bra may result in an inadequate result. There are plenty of bras designed to stay in shape without the plastic or metal going through the bottom.

The perfect bra

A shocking number of women walk around with loose-fitting bras. This may be due to several reasons, but it is not too difficult to fix. Here are some tips when placing a bra:

  • The bra band should be comfortable, but not limiting. If it slides, a narrower band is needed.
  • If the band leaves red marks or the skin stretches, it is too tight.
  • Breasts should not protrude from the cups on the sides or top.
  • The bra should also not look wrinkled or wrinkled, which means it is too big.
  • For those who have trouble finding the perfect bra, a fit with a professional can be helpful.

Another note: very padded bras, such as flexible bras, or even t-shirt bras push your breasts in a more pleasing shape. However, this artificial manipulation of breast tissue is not necessarily healthy. The attractive, pointed and attractive bra of the store will probably not be the healthiest. Think about your stage in life

The healthiest activity bra

People who participate in shooting sports, such as running or horseback riding, tend to be more comfortable with firmer support. The fabric still needs to be breathable and a bit flexible. In a study of 23 larger-sized women, they found that people who wore sports bras with a wide, vertical strap kept themselves more comfortable than their counterparts with crossed backs. However, in a similar study of women with smaller breasts, vertical straps were more likely to slide down and were more comfortable with cross straps.

Body size factorization

Those with a larger cup size tend to be more comfortable with wider straps and wider closures. This helps reduce weight on your back, shoulders and neck, which you could do they negatively affect the spine, not to mention back pain or tense neck muscles.

A study of postmenopausal women found that those people who had larger breasts and sizes tended to have more pain in the middle back.

Even if the back is not triggered enough to cause pain, it does not mean that the body is not subjected to the stress it still causes. subluxations of the spine. Subluxations compress the nerves that lead to all the body’s systems, preventing their function.

A poorly fitted bra can sometimes also cause these problems in women with smaller cups.

Final thoughts on the health of the bra

Go without brutality, or at least take it off whenever possible (like in the evening or at night), is the healthiest option for many women. However, for those who still want or need a bra for various reasons, there are healthier options. A suitable bra with flexible, breathable natural materials is essential.

Unfortunately, I haven’t found many bras that fit the bill, and I’m certainly hoping more companies will start considering breast health when making them.
