Large demonstrations were held in cities around the world demanding an end to the deadly Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip.
Protesters waved flags and placards that said “Free Palestine” and shouted “Long live the Intifada” or uprising.
Several people also carried banners that said “No in my name” and “Solidarity with Palestine.”
The Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip entered its seventh consecutive day with airstrikes Sunday morning, killing at least 26 Palestinians and wounding dozens more.
World solidarity marches coincided with Nakba Day, the day Palestinians around the world commemorate the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in the midst of the establishment of Israel in 1948.
Nakba in Arabic means “catastrophe.”
