If social interactions tighten, only up to 2 people can meet

The government’s Covid-19 working group announced on Friday (May 14) that it will be allowed to gather people in groups of up to two from May 16. This is less than the current five.

The daily limit of five different visitors per home will also be reduced to two different visitors per day.

“Individuals should continue to limit the total number of social gatherings to no more than two per day, either in another home or meeting with friends and family in a public place,” the Ministry of Health said.

In addition, no one will be allowed to dine in food and beverage establishments, including shopping malls and cafes. Restaurants, both indoor and outdoor, can only offer takeaway food and delivery.

Working from home will also remain the default. Employers need to make sure that employees who can work from home do so and that social gatherings at workplaces are not allowed.

You can take breaks in the workplace, but staff should refrain from mingling with colleagues when removing masks.

Wedding banquets will have to cease, but a special arrangement can be made this Sunday for those with wedding plans. They can continue, but with the necessary pre-test for all guests.

Other activities that will also not be allowed include intensive indoor exercise classes or individual and group outdoor sports and exercise activities.
