Razer has officially opened its new one It is home to $ 100 million from Southeast Asia (SEA) to one north last week.
The seven-story building features an iconic black façade with acidic green lines running through the building, a tribute to the brand’s recognizable aesthetic.
At night, the building literally glows as it lights up with LED lighting strips with the characteristic green of Razer.
With an estimated 19,300 square feet, it is certainly a great upgrade of the former two-story Razer office in Chai Chee Industrial Estate.
When you enter directly …
When you first enter through the glass doors of the building, you will be greeted by a massive LED display that displays stunning graphics, which enhances the futuristic feel of the place.
On the left side of the first floor is Singapore’s first RazerStore. It is also the only one in Southeast Asia and the sixth in the world; Other store locations include London, Las Vegas, Hong Kong, Taipei and San Francisco.
The RazerStore has an open concept, where visitors can see first-hand the latest innovations and creations from Razer, as well as try out the full range of its products.
There are also plenty of merchandise available for sale, ranging from Sneki Snek stuffed animals, custom Razer mice to Razer clothing.
However, it is worth noting that visitors cannot make a purchase at the store. There is only one option to click and collect, that is, you will first need to shop online and then head to the store to pick it up.
Meanwhile, on the right side of the first floor is Razer’s first food and beverage concept, RazerCafe, where you can make and serve your drinks for your own robotic barista.
At RazerCafe, customers can order (or reserve) a drink in the store using the RazerCafe app or order kiosk. There are several beverage options available, and you can also customize your cup of coffee. Coffee beans come from PPP coffee.
Once the order is ready, you will receive a notification in the application and then you can proceed to collect it in a designated cubicle.
In keeping with Razer’s commitment to sustainability, every purchase at the RazerCafe is carbon neutral, from seed to cup. All consumables (bodies, napkins, etc.) are made from recycled or recyclable materials; and their straws are also of vegetable origin.
The RazerCafe is currently open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., although work is underway to extend the hours to 24 hours a day. After all, your barista never needs to sleep!
Where the commotion goes
Although the Razer building has seven floors, Razer only occupies the first four floors: the upper floors are rented to several tenants, including the joint venture company JustCo.
Razer’s offices in the United States, Germany and Singapore already have Great Place to Work certification and with the new SEA headquarters, Razer is ready to expand its proposals to be a place to do great work.
The second, third and fourth floors of the building house the main workspace (unfortunately no photographs are allowed), with countless meeting rooms, living rooms, telephone booths and “hot table” spaces.
Its walls are lined with patent certificates they have achieved over the years, as well as sporadic exhibitions of their award-winning products.
It is interesting to note that its meeting rooms are named after Razer products such as Kraken, Black Widow and Kiyo.
All meeting rooms are equipped with Razer chairs and BAMBOO – The brand of sustainable fabrics and antibacterial wipes from Nurturing Co. BAMBOOLOO received the first investment of the US $ 50 million Green Fund from Razer.
Its largest meeting room is Boomslang, with a capacity for more than 20 people. There are also padded seats flanking the windows, which is apparently the preferred seat of CEO Min-Liang Tan: he prefers to sit on the sidelines rather than take the central seat of the meeting room.
The room is so large that it has a dedicated pantry area so you can comfortably brew a cup of coffee to stay awake during long meetings, as well as a small room at the back that allows you to make urgent phone calls without leaving. of the meeting.
However, one might think that when a meeting room is too large, the meeting may be less productive (because the person at the other end cannot be heard or seen). This is not at all the case with Razer with an ingenious gadget that automatically approaches the face of the speaker and splashes it on the big screen.
When food meets fun
Each of the floors has a pantry area with plenty of space for dining, although they all look totally different.
The fourth floor is lit by Razer’s iconic green lights, while the third floor has a more cozy cafe feel (it also has a foosball table).
The one on the second floor has, without a doubt, the most beautiful pantry. It stretches across the Sky Garden (unfortunately it rained when I visited Vulcan Post, so we couldn’t take good photos) and has more gaming amenities like a pool table and a huge Xbox One gaming machine.
Funny fact: 802C refers to the color code of the green Razer signature!
Razer used to offer free lunches to its staff (mainly because the former office was in a remote industrial area), but with its current well-equipped pantries, Razer has suppressed that advantage.
The advantage is that Razer now offers a selection of artisanal bread for its staff for breakfast.
There is a designated room right next to the pantry to host sports workshops and training sessions. The walls can also be moved to expand the pantry area, which serves as a space for Razer to host its company’s town hall sessions.
Want to join Razer?
Do you like what you’ve seen so far and hope this can be your future office? Good news, Razer is now aggressively hiring in Singapore.
The gaming company is looking to increase its current workforce from 600 employees to 1,000 employees. There are currently more than 30 job postings on Razer’s LinkedIn page, with available features such as product marketing, development manager, software engineer, data scientist and social media specialist.
While most of its employees now work from home, Razer is making an effort to organize business bonding activities, the most recent of which is its virtual office-wide Halloween party.
Razer also often hosts gaming tournaments for its employees, reflecting the company’s mantra of “work hard, play hard.”
