Grab announced today (May 6) that it will expand its transportation offerings with the upcoming launch of two new a la carte travel options on May 25th.
New travel options are GrabCar Exec, a fleet of luxury vehicles that serves consumers who want to travel in style and comfort; and GrabPet XL, which caters to consumers with more pets.
GrabCar Exec offers a limousine-style service focused on quality of service, which is an option for consumers looking for a special trip for special events or occasions.
It’s worth noting that Ryde has also recently launched a new premium travel service called Ryde RydeLUXE which is geared towards the same demographic.
GrabCar Exec will be serviced by a fleet of four- and six-seater premium vehicles, which include the BMW 5 Series, Mercedes Benz E-Class, Mercedes-Benz V220 and Toyota Vellfire models.
Pilots can also take advantage of the various amenities on offer, such as charging the phone and child seats.
In addition, GrabCar Exec partner drivers will be required to attend vocational training and are also advised to dress professionally to elevate the overall consumer experience.
More space for pets and passengers
GrabPet XL is basically an updated version of the existing GrabPet service. The service would use larger vehicle models, allowing more passengers and pets to be transported.
For example, a GrabPet XL vehicle can carry three passengers and three small and medium-sized pets (up to 41 cm long) or two large pets (41 cm long or more) in a single trip. Instead, GrabPet can accommodate up to two passengers, two small or medium-sized pets, or one large pet.
All pets allowed by the Animal and Veterinary Service (except birds) are allowed.
All vehicles are equipped with folding pet seat covers and adjustable straps to ensure the comfort and safety of pets during the trip. In addition, Grab offers insurance for pets traveling during the transit period.
“Our consumers rely heavily on the Grab platform for their mobility needs. They are very diverse and it is important that our set of services can meet your different needs, in areas such as quality, safety, comfort and more. We have specifically created GrabPet XL and GrabCar Exec to address the feedback and requests of our consumers and partner drivers, ”said Andrew Chan, General Manager of Grab Transport Singapore.
He added that with these new services it will help create more profit opportunities for its partner-drivers.
Interested consumers will soon be able to book these services using the Grab app. Trips start at $ 16 for GrabPet XL and start at $ 15 for GrabCar Exec.
