Grab announced yesterday (November 2) that it has partnered with e-commerce platform Lazada to offer a GrabExpress delivery option to its sellers.

This allows sellers to offer same-day delivery services to their Singapore buyers, which is in line with the increase in “fast trade“.

According to PwC’s Global Consumer Insights Pulse Survey in June 2021, “fast and reliable delivery” was the most important online shopping attribute consumers took into account when making a purchase.

A separate McKinsey report revealed that between 20 and 25 percent of consumers are willing to pay more for same-day delivery.

“Convenience and a smooth shopping journey are crucial to the online shopping experience and part of that includes offering viable delivery options to suit different customer requirements,” said Gerald Glauerdt, Director of Logistics of Lazada Singapore.

“We are introducing same-day delivery for a growing segment of consumers who need their products delivered quickly and as the end-of-year season approaches, we anticipate that more consumers will select delivery on same day as they prepare last minute gifts. for their loved ones “.

When browsing a product in Lazada, customers can select the “instant” delivery option for eligible products before placing the order.

The price starts from S $ 3.19 for deliveries between 0 and 5 km and increases accordingly up to a maximum delivery distance of 30 km. The service is available on weekdays and orders placed before 15:00 will be delivered within the day.

Currently, there are more than 50 Lazada vendors offering the instant delivery service, including well-known brands such as Aroma Truffle, JBL, Shine Korea, as well as local vendors covering the major product categories.

Lazada plans to expand this group of traders and incorporate more.

“As consumers become accustomed to speed and convenience when shopping online, companies have also had to look for new ways to comply with these new shopping habits,” said Ngiam Xin Wei, CEO of Singapore Singapore deliveries.
